Michael (Mike) Wise will portray Captain George M. Wise, his second great-uncle, who served as an adjutant in the Union’s 43rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment under Sunbury’s hero, Major General William S. Rosecrans. He will tell the story of Ohio’s contributions to the Union war effort to combat the Southern rebellion, with a talk and slide presentation. Mike is the President of the Big Walnut Area Historical Society, located in the Myers Inn Museum on the Square.
Reservations requested but not required. Recommended for 8th Grade - Adult.
There will be a door prize drawing and test your knowledge in a Civil War trivia game.
Refreshments will be served, including some Civil War recipes.
